Well, my Hiqmar EP18i Electric E-Fin turned up two days early, and although I have two days (rest days) off of work, I will not get the opportunity to test it out due to several hospital appointments. Fortunately, I am a patient man, so I will read through the instruction manual, charge up the battery box, and hopefully record an unboxing, specifications, and set up video for my YouTube channel at the weekend.
This e-fin is supplied by an American company and one concern I had was that most American SUPS and kayaks tend to have a slot and bolt-in fin (skeg) box fitted and that the slide-in skeg adaptor would not be included. No need to worry on that score, it is supplied as an accessory.
All being well, I intend on testing my e-fin out on the stretch of water between Tonbridge and Leigh Flood Barrier on Friday 7th July. This will be a speed, usability, and operational test, not a battery run time test, which will follow in a future review video. 👍
