Welcome to my David Wilson Out & About blog, I am simply an older man sharing my thoughts and passion for videography and photography.

Like many people, I have lived life in the fast lane, juggling family life, my business, and much of my spare time as a practising martial artist and instructor.

In 2015, fast approaching 60, I decided to slow the pace down a bit by introducing a few leisurely hobbies into my life such as aerial videography and photography, however, this was soon joined by hiking and flatwater kayaking.

Until recently I had separate websites and facebook pages for still photography, aerial videos, and kayaking, however, since many of my leisure pursuits are seasonal I decided to house them all on one website and facebook page.

Whatever I am doing, be it hiking, day walks, camping, or kayaking, I am sure to have a camera of some description with me.

About My YouTube Channel:

I launched my YouTube channel in October 2019, uploading a few kayaking videos, however, in June 2020 I changed the name of the channel so that I could include a variety of content from my many rekindled outdoor interests from my teens and twenties.

One of the main aims of my channel is to try and encourage people of all ages to get out in the great outdoors and embrace nature, in whatever form that takes. Having been diagnosed with Stage 3 Osteoarthritis in both knees in 2023, I experience constant aches and pain, often severe, affecting my knees and hips. This said I will continue to promote the health and well-being benefits of spending time in nature in any way possible.

My YouTube channel has been slowly growing over the past few years and I would like to thank all my viewers and subscribers for calling by, leaving comments, and motivating and supporting me.
