I recently bought the DJI Neo and had some issues getting it fully operational. These issues stem from the fact that we have poor internet speeds in our area, and the Wi-Fi connection is terrible.

Issues Downloading The DJI Fly App
First, please make sure you download the app via the DJI website. If you are struggling to download the latest version via the website over Wi-Fi try downloading it using your smartphone's mobile data, this worked for me.
Issues Updating The Neo Firmware Via The App
If you repeatedly receive a server error while attempting to update the firmware, download the DJI Assistant 2 v 2.1.28 from the DJI download centre to your laptop or PC.
- Open the app and sign in using your username and password.
- Turn on your Neo.
- Connect your USB cable to the Neo from the laptop/PC.
- Click on the Neo icon.
Your Neo should be recognised within a few seconds, click on the Neo icon, and you will see all the available updates and downloads for your Neo.
I hope this helps, I spent a day trying to get the latest version of the app and updating the Neo's firmware. Over the next week, I will be familiarising myself and testing the features of this drone, so I can produce a few informal first impressions and review videos for my YouTube channel.
