There has been a major improvement in my recovery from the meniscal tear in my right knee and less pain and stiffness from Osteoarthritis in both knees over the past few months, however, my physiotherapy session this morning has dampened my spirit somewhat.
My physiotherapist was getting me to practice some additional exercises to strengthen my glutes and calf muscles. On a simple squat with my back against the wall, I was in agony and I could not even rise from a squat of less than six inches. In another exercise for my lower back, I was asked to get on all fours on the cough to perform a stretch and I could not weight bear on either of my knees.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement, however, the physiotherapy sessions are partly to assess my condition and improvement, and also to set me the appropriate exercises to aid recovery!.
I was planning on challenging myself by hiking a couple of the Seven Sisters cliffs on the South Downs Way next week, but the fact is that is not possible at this present time 😌
This afternoon, I have been relaxing and gathering my thoughts. I call it, retreating to regroup to move forward. So maybe I will just try trekking over one of the Seven Sisters to Beachy Head which is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain next week and make a video about the history of the lighthouse and chalk cliffs! 😉
