STATISTICS & WHY I VALUE MY YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS:

For years, the size of a YouTube channel's subscriber count was widely considered the ultimate barometer of its success and influence. However, a significant shift in thinking has emerged within the creator community, with many prominent YouTube influencers now contending that this long-held belief is outdated. In a surprising yet increasingly common assertion, these digital personalities argue that it's not the number of followers, but rather the sheer volume of views, that truly dictates a channel's reach, engagement, and financial viability in the dynamic landscape of online video.

The Importance of YouTube Subscribers: A Closer Look at the Numbers

As a content creator on YouTube, it's essential to understand the importance of subscribers in the grand scheme of things. While it's true that approximately 85 per cent of my video views per month come from new viewers, I still value my YouTube subscribers.

To begin, let's take a closer look at the numbers. The fact that 85 per cent of my views come from new viewers means that my content is being discovered by a wide audience. This is great news, as it indicates that my videos are reaching a broader demographic and potentially attracting new subscribers. However, it's crucial not to overlook the importance of the remaining 15 per cent of viewers who are my subscribers.

Subscribers play a significant role in the success of a YouTube channel for several reasons. Firstly, they are more likely to watch and engage with my videos regularly, as they have chosen to follow my content. This engagement not only helps to boost my channel's visibility on YouTube's algorithm but also fosters a sense of community and loyalty among my audience.

Secondly, subscribers are more likely to share my content with their friends and followers, further expanding my reach. This word-of-mouth marketing can be invaluable, as it helps to attract new viewers who may not have discovered my content otherwise.

Lastly, subscribers serve as a foundation for my channel's growth. By consistently producing quality content and engaging with my audience, I can retain my existing subscribers while also attracting new ones. This growth is essential for long-term success on the platform, as it ensures that my content continues to reach new viewers and maintain a steady stream of video views.

In conclusion, while it's undoubtedly exciting to see new viewers discovering my content, I must not overlook the importance of my YouTube subscribers. They are the backbone of my channel, providing regular engagement, sharing my content, and supporting my growth. By valuing and nurturing these relationships, I can continue to create content that resonates with my audience and ultimately build a thriving YouTube community.
