Vango Assynt 200 Stitching Failure On The First Outing...

Well, my Vango Assynt 200 backpacking tent is on its way back to Vango for warranty repair/replacement as it did not fare too well on my recent wild camping trip. This was only the second time I have pitched this tent, the first being a test pitch in the garden.

1: Guy line loop stitching failed.

2: stitching failed on the inner tent.

The guy line stitching failed on a breezy day, it was under moderate tension.

The hole in the inner tent was only noticed when I was cleaning the groundsheet before packing the tent away

Not good for what is supposed to be a 4-season backpacking tent. I hope the tent is replaced rather than repaired because I have lost faith in this one. I have very mixed feelings about this tent. On one hand, it is a quick pitch, practical, and very cosy tent. On the other hand, if it is going to fall apart at the seams, it is not fit for purpose.,
